One of the highlights of the local calendar, the annual Ringwood Carnival brings together parades, attractions, food and drink, a fairground, and fireworks – all for charity.
The first parade takes place during the day:
This year had a range of famous screen cars making an appearance, among them Del Boy’s Reliant Regal, KITT, Bumblebee from Transformers, and everybody’s favourite, the DeLorean.
Not sure my other half will thank me for posting this one.
The evening parade is when things get really interesting to me as a photographer, when the vehicles and musicians decked out in lights not only look spectacular but provide a challenging environment to capture.
And what better place than a fairground at night to play around with some longer exposures?
I kind of regret having enough of a survival instinct not to give this contraption a go – as much as I love thrill rides, I prefer to stick to ones that are permanently attached to the ground – I hope you’ll agree it made a beautiful foreground for the grand finale fireworks.
